A Home for the Cure
For the past couple months we have had the great opportunity to participate in the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway here in Nashville.
Every year St. Jude’s hospital participates in the building of up to 30 homes around the nation to raise money to further their research and cure for cancer. The St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway began in 1991 by a Louisiana physician in hopes to be able to send his patients to St. Jude’s for treatment. Today, the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway is one of St. Jude’s largest single-event fundraisers and has raised more than 224 million dollars.
Sponsors and contributors donated their time and products into building a dream home for a Nashville resident. Tickets are purchased from those who wish to be entered into a raffle and at the end of June the home will become one lucky ticketholders new home. Many of these homes are built all over the country in effort to raise money to continue to save the lives of St. Jude’s patients.
We were able to help in the design and construction of the garage. Providing organization and design input, we then installed garage shelving to make the garage as accessible and efficient as possible for the new dream home owners. We value the opportunity to be able to participate and be a part of such an amazing and touching organization.
The drawing for the Nashville St. Jude Dream Home will take place on Sunday June 23, 2013.
